How To Create A Successful Sales Funnel
Hi there,
Trevor here, I hope you're well.
Today I want to talk more generally about sales funnels. We have many people that are very new to marketing online here who could be a bit hazy about what sales funnels actually are so I thought this would help them as well as you more experienced.
Infusion Soft (a sales management system used by many top marketers online) defines a sales funnel, "as the upside-down pyramid that represents the journey potential customers go through to become customers. Funnels are widest at the top and narrow down as a potential customer gets closer to the sale."
The idea of introducing a sales funnel into your online business is to assist your visitor to move from being a stranger to becoming a customer.
It's a process that allows you to build the know. like and trust position that is spoken about a lot in online marketing circles.
There are generally accepted to be 4 components in the funnel that are key to making it a success.
The first of those stages is Awareness.
This is the stage where your potential customer, your site visitor or reader of your emails, first becomes aware of your solutions to their problems or your products and services.
At this stage they are what we call a cold prospect. They don't know you and don't have any relationship with you. Your job at this stage is to start to build that relationship by providing something appealing to them relating to what they are looking for.
The next stage is Interest.
At this stage your visitor has an interest in what you are offering but needs more to make them want to find out whether you are the right person to be following. You do this by offering them a gift of some sort to show that you care and want to help them.
This gift is often called a lead magnet because its sole purpose is to get the visitor to sign up to your email list to find out more from you.
Building a list is the foundation of Internet marketing because it allows you to continue to contact that visitor and build that essential relationship with them over time.
Unless you take that initial opportunity to obtain a way of keeping in touch with them they could just slip away never to return.
The next stage is Decision
At this stage the visitor has decided that they like you, they like what you have to offer and has made a decision to proceed with whatever it is you're offering. You may be offering training either via a PDF manual or video, a software solution, coaching of some sort or maybe a membership.
Your visitor has now moved from being a complete stranger to being someone who has got to know you, likes you and what you offer and trusts that you have their best interests at heart. It has taken quite a bit of effort to reach this stage through your email follows that you have been sending them and the free help and information that you've been providing.
It's vital that you don't lose this trust by forgetting that you're there to serve the customer not yourself.
Zig Zigler quite rightly said that if you help enough people get what they want you'll get what you want by default. Lots of people marketing online these days would do well to reflect on that advice. There is way too much concentration on making money for me these days and not enough on the customer's wants and needs.
The final stage is Action
This is when your visitor becomes a customer. Look after this new customer and he/she could become a raving fan who buys everything you offer to them.
All successful businesses operate some variation of this process whether it's online or offline. It's been the same process that's been used for as long as people have been selling to each other and is unlikely to change.
Yesterday I introduced the new funnel system called XFunnels. It's still a good option but the price is rising with each purchase so you may want to check it out before the launch offer ends.
If you want to take a look at it yourself here's a link to it.

Ii you didn't get to check out Lee Murray's Funnel World that I spoke about last time then here's the link again;
I hope you found this useful. If I can be of further help reply to this email and let me know your thoughts/questions. Reply to this email or drop me a ticket at my helpdesk
Until next time,
Kind regards,
Trevor
