Seminars are where millionaires are made
I’m currently at Martin Avis’s KISS workshop in London. I was told a long time ago that seminars are where millionaires are made and that has certainly been true for a lot of people. Not necessarily because of what you learn from the speakers but because of the networking opportunity that they present.
Martin runs a regular newsletter called Kickstart and the KISS, if you’re curious, stands for Kickstart Internet Success Simple. Martin believes in keeping things simple.
Today has been a really good start to the weekend. Topics today included a session from Rob Cornish on getting traffic. Rob is a good example of how it’s still possible to make a good living online. He didn’t start online until 2010 and is now making a full-time living online. When Rob started he didn’t know how to register a domain name, create a website or do anything online. He was a complete newbie.
If you’re just getting started and think that you don’t have what it takes to make it online, think of Rob – he has and so can you.
Then Andrew Hansen showed us all how he continues to make money as an affiliate marketer, even though you hear lots of people saying that affiliate marketing is dead. The key is in selecting the right niche in the first place. The reason that people fail with affiliate marketing is usually because they haven’t selected a profitable niche at the outset.
Everbody’s talking about Kindle publishing these days. Gary Vurnum provided us with a detailed look at how he is moving his marketing efforts over to concentrate solely on Kindle publishing. There was a lot of food for thought there, and certainly something I’m going to be giving more time to in the future.
Today looks like being another interesting day with topics including membership sites, social media and getting started online.
I’ll post some more detailed takeaways from the seminar when I get back home.
